i just think the list is bad. So do a whole lot of other posters here and it's not exactly because they don't have "indie records that they haven't heard but pretend to act like they're good" in their list.
Why do you think no one here cares about music that's less mainstream than Katy Perry and Nicki Minaj, anyway? Anti-snobbism went too far.
