Madonna 'slaughters' Lady Gaga at the box office

Madonna, Elton John and Lady Gaga remain three of the biggest gay idols in the music industry. However, judging by box office reports released this morning, there is only one of them that remains a blockbuster act.
Madonna's MDNA Tour has ranked in $228 million from 72 shows and is the biggest tour of 2012. Lady Gaga, who has marketed herself as the new "Queen of Pop," has to settle for second best -- or sixth. Her tour ranked in $124 million for 65 shows. Elton John, who said Madonna's career was over with and her tour was a disaster, ranked in a paltry (at least in his case) $32 million with many shows not selling out. He ranked at number 19 for the year.
First of all, let's analyze the Billboard results. Madonna did not really sell out 72 shows. She sold a lot of seats, but there were some empty seats at her shows in places like France, Argentina, Las Vegas, and Denver. But at least all of her shows and numbers were reported, unlike those of Lady Gaga.
Lady Gaga reports 65 sold out shows, but many of her poor selling shows have not been reported. What is more interesting is that overall, her tour in Latin American countries was a major financial disaster. She resorted to pathetic giveaways and buy-one-get-one-free ticket deals in order to attempt to fill her shows in Brazil and Peru, yet the shows weren't even close to being filled to capacity. She lied to her Twitter followers when claiming she was going to play in front of 50,000 people in Peru. In reality, 17,000 appeared.
In Russia, Lady Gaga was recently seen playing to thousands of empty seats. Her "Born This Way Ball" is going to be a money-making success in North America, but there are still thousands of tickets left for many of the venues and Taylor Swift is outselling her by far.

65 shows? They are missing dates from South America, South Africa, Russia, and some other parts of Europe. This is also from Examiner and was already posted. Madge is still slaying though.
