These were the dates announced on the show. I doubt they would put up dates for pre-auditions for specific cities when you can audition online or in those booths.

Yes that's what I meant.

I know with the online auditions you can audition now but I thought they did this thing where contestants have to go to a place where they audition to producers on a certain date and THEN audition in front of the judges at a later date?

Because remember last year only like 80 people auditioned in Austin because the producers had already put through the people they wanted. I'm not sure though so I could be wrong.

Yeah those are definitely pre-auditions then. If any ol' body can show up, then they wouldn't waste the judges time going through thousands of applicants.

Not exactly Summer, I was thinking 3-4 weeks earlier than this season, which would put it around mid to late August.

If the audition dates really are that close then I doubt Simon will drop Britney (unless she decides to leave herself of course) because he'd only have like 2 months of looking for 2 inexperienced judges. Unless he's already been looking since the live shows started..............

X Factor UK premiered in mid to late August so that would be a good time.

I'm just speculating at this point given the information.

Oh and I think staring in August would be better because then the show wouldn't feel rushed at the end and they could end the double eliminations during the live shows.

And I just realized looking at the schedule that there's only one date for each location as opposed to 2 or 3 like there usually are, and some dates look way too close or far apart.

The real auditions with the judges probably start around the same time they did last year.

But I think Britney will be back on Season 3. She already so, Simon wants her to, there really isn't a reason to boot her just because the expectations weren't met. It can't get worse next season, and the dip season-on-season can easily be attributed to the fact Season 1 sucked. If one of these winners actually go somewhere + if Britney has new album next Fall, the ratings could rebound a bit.

I was saying that I think the auditions with producers are the pre-auditions - The ones announced on the show being the ones with the judges.

I feel like a1016neo is turning into a true star... Oops, I feel like a1016neo is right, they wouldn't announce those dates live if those aren't the Judges' dates, and this season they went to 5 citites as well, right?

I don't know, the X-Factor is such a mess that is hard to analyze anything from a professional point.

The problem with X Factor this season was that it wanted to cater to a younger demographic. The problem is that this demographic doesn't bring in the ratings. The youth is more into the social media aspect of the show (watching videos on YT, following contestants on Twitter), as demonstrated when the premiere broke social media records. The demo switch might have turned off middle america.

X Factor is also heavily overproduced compared to The Voice and Idol. I don't think middle america is here for a overproduced, drama heavy show. They want to see raw talent which is why The Voice was successful this season. They are also tired of the negativity and bickering Simon and LA bring to the table every week.

Lastly, country is HUGE for these types of shows, as seen in Tate's success. Maybe a country judge would bring in more viewers.
