My Chemical Romance - 'Teenagers'
Teenagers have been receiving an uncommonly bad press of late. Be it shootings, stabbings or accusations of displaying a total lack of respect for the institutions designed to prime our young people for later life, the section of society for whom a cider in the park is the only alternative to a night in the pub has been labelled as the most dangerous and unruly since the previous generation.
And so it goes but while there's no denying the ups and downs of teenage life, surely the current crop isn't so screwed up that garbage like this acts as their voice? Imagine Billy Corgan penning a musical about how your parents don't understand you, you've just been dumped and all your friends hate you and you're still not even close to the inherent awfulness of what's contained here. Essentially a show tune given a turgid metal makeover, My Chemical Romance should be sent to bed without any supper until they learn the error of their ways.
Score. 3/10
