X-Factor caused 'Unapologetic' to fall on UK charts
It is well know that X-Factor UK is the biggest promo spot in the country (especially the final show). Rihanna has performed 2 songs here last week. This year she visited the show 2 times just like she did in 2010 for 'Loud' promo. The second performance helped album to sell 300k+ during that week. Too bad, seems that this time the performance had a negative effect on Rihanna's sales. The album has already felt to #7.
You are so pressed. Too bad the queen has two entries in the top 10 this week including Stay at number 6 and continues to sell more than the other girls, UK queen.
I don't get how promo can have a bad effect on sales? Does it mean that her performance put people off purchasing her music? Because I'm pretty sure I seen that performance get good reception.
Rihanna is DA KWEEN of the UK, though. So the haters will remain seething, I suppose.
Why do you think X-Factor had a negative effect for album sales? Was a performance bad? Is an album just not as good as 'Loud'? Or is the generic public in the UK just not here for Rihanna anymore? Share your thoughts.
Listen bitch. All top 4 albums sold over 100,000 copies, and Rihanna sold 60k last week, meaning she's probably up to around 80-90k this week, meaning her sales INCREASED. And she scored a Top 10 single w/ Stay from ONE performance.
