Why is Shakira even an option?  She barely beats J.Lo in movie sales. I won't even go into movie, perfume, fashion, etc. sales. Plus J.Lo's impact in Latina actresses.

JLo re-defined what it means to be an empire.
She's the one who gave birth to artists creating their own empires, perfume lines, clothing line.
Without JLo's influence, artist wouldn't even think of doing a perfume line, a clothing line, etc.
JLo was HUGE in her heyday. I mean her JLo clothing line was HUMONGOUS. Everyone was wearing her. She was the talk of every hour, and yet she never have any scandals about drugs. Everyone was gossiping about her, even when she's really nice.
JLo is a global force. It may not be in music, but her name alone. HELL, her INITIALS alone, J Lo is ICONIC.
Even to this day, she's still an empire to be reckon with. Not to mention she doesn't really try hard.
JLo's impact transcends music. She's a fashion icon, a business mogul, a legitimate actress with skills, pop culture icon, and a legend.

Shakira hasn't starred in a movie and she's only made small cameos in some shows so what is there to compare on that level? I don't know her perfume sales and I think Shakira has a better fashion sense. She also does better with music sales. We all know who's more relevant so why even try?

Madonna did not have her own perfume and fashion line at the same time. Maybe she had a fragrance, but she never made an empire out of it. Music was always Madonna's main focus.

Umm like I said, Shakira hasn't starred in a movie and she said she has no interest going in to Hollywood.
Not sure about perfumes, but that's irrelevant to how much of a star you are.
