It's too bad that Nelly and Ashanti never married. The more you think about it, they were really what Jay-Z and Beyoncé are today just ten years ago. Think about it, even Jay rapped, "Only people moving units is Em[inem], Pimp Juice [Nelly] and us." If Nelly would have just gone ahead and thrown a ring on it, he would have been viewed as an icon, along with Ashanti who was killing the R&B scene back in the early 2000's. Well, their little relationship appears to be over, again. Media Take Out has the inside:

December 13, 2012: For YEARS R&B singer Ashanti has been BEGGING her longtime rapper boyfriend NELLY to claim her . . . and a few months ago - he FINALLY DID!!! MediaTakeOut.com reported late this summer that Nelly was willing to COME FORWARD with their romance - and they did. Nelly and Ashanti were beginning to come OUT IN THE OPEN about their love. And according to a person closee to Nelly . . . the rapper was preparing to PROPOSE to Ashanti THIS SPRING.

But that ain't happening now. Because the SAME FRIEND tells MediaTakeOut.com that Nelly is accusing Asahnti of CHEATING ON HIM with her producer, Chink Santana. The insider explained, "Ashanti and [Chink] spent a lot of time together [in the studio]. Nelly asked her point blank if they were [having relations] Ashanti said no. But turns out she wasn't being truthful." So MediaTakeout.com learned that Nelly has COMPLETELY cut Ashanti off . . . and is NO LONGER considering marrying her. Now we're using the term "ALLEGEDY" here because we can't say for certain that Ashanti was f*cking dude - that's just NELLY's side of things. It's hard to think that Ashanti is the type to just turn her back on Nelly and see what other fish are out in the sea. Truth be told, they really do make a cute couple and when the cameras stop rolling, which they have, and the paper starts slowing up, all they'll have is each other.
