Checks and balances: SCOTUS is the law of the land. No branch of government can overturn their decisions.

In some states yes. In the US as a whole, some states like Texas and Mississippi will continue to hold out. I think it will be allowed federally before some states start to allow it.

For those who live in the US, just wait until June. The Supreme Court ruling will be the biggest and most important step on the path toward full marriage equality if they rule in favor of equality.
