I can't wait for all the NRA Members to try and find an excuse as to why they should still be able to have guns. "If the killer didn't have a gun he would have found some other way to kill them." Probably so, but he wouldn't have been able to do it so quickly, easily, and to so many people. Guns are violent point blank period, and it should not be as easy as it is today for some random person off the street to have access to such brutal weaponry.
And to think it all started in the Principal's office and everyone within the school heard all the commotion over the loud speaker. I can only imagine the panic.
Oh God, they heard the Principal get shot over the loudspeaker? I can't even imagine how I would have felt had I heard that.
Tell me, what good have guns done outside of the police (which even then, it's questionable). Every year, we have dozens and dozens of innocent people die in mass shootings, and that's not including the husbands/wives who go crazy and kill their entire family, drug dealers, robberies, etc. Yeah, guns have saved some lives, but they've taken many more.
The main reason is to ensure that regular people have a means to protect themselves.
Back when the constitution was written it was mostly directed at preventing tyranny by military bodies. Now that we're more stable, the law has probably remained to allow regular people to protect themselves against criminals who'll get guns whether or not it's harder to get or illegal all together.
this just goes to show, nobody is safe, anywhere. We need to be thankful that we are still living and breathing because at any moment it could all be taken away.

These are different times, the laws need to reflect that. This isnt the time of our parents, or grandparents. People are crazier now, especially younger people. Kids are willing to kill themselves and others because they were called names, kids are on twitter and tumblr cutting themselves, killing themselves because they dont get a follow from a celebrity. We don't need to remove guns but we need to make it a hell of a lot harder to legally obtain them
