Tell me, what good have guns done outside of the police (which even then, it's questionable). Every year, we have dozens and dozens of innocent people die in mass shootings, and that's not including the husbands/wives who go crazy and kill their entire family, drug dealers, robberies, etc. Yeah, guns have saved some lives, but they've taken many more.
Imagine being one of the parents/relatives of the children and rushing your ass to the school once you got the news, then waiting and waiting to see your child's face out of escorted children - only to ultimately be told that your child was one of the fatal victims.
[Updated at 1:47 p.m. ET] A few more details from the White House press briefing earlier. White House spokesman Jay Carney said while today is not the day to debate gun policy, an assault weapons ban "does remain a commitment" of President Obama.
Sounds like Obama is taking gun control seriously. Hopefully he'll get this country's gun laws under control.

And to think it all started in the Principal's office and everyone within the school heard all the commotion over the loud speaker. I can only imagine the panic.
