If that was Mariah or any other curvy/rounded star that people love to hate in terms of looks, they'd be calling her fat, whale like, chunky, overweight, gross etc. Why? She's got the same rounded/muscular arms and legs and when Kelly is in shape and she shows her arms (which look just like Katherine's) shes gets called fat too.

This has nothing to do with Kelly CLARKson. Besides, it was clear to see that Katharine McPhee was fatter than Kelly ever was on American Idol. Now you see a couple good shots that are airbrushed like crazy and you're gonna try to compare her to Kelly currently at her heaviest weight? It's ridiculous.

What I'm saying is that Mariah has a similar if not the same type of body shape as Katherine and yet even when she is in shape as Katherine currently is, she is called fat. If that was Mariah in those photos there wouldn't be all the love like there is on the first page here because according to superficiality, it seems curvy/rounded body shapes are acceptable on some people and not on others. It's two faced.

What I'm talking about has nothing to do with their clothes, Katherine is barely wearing anything in those pics the clothing (as Nick the Third also mentioned) isn't relevant and the attitude I'm talking about is based on more than that.

I'm aware of that, but the reason I said that is because the fact that Mariah dresses hideously makes her figure look worse than it sort of already is, and the way Katharine dresses compliments her [pretty good] figure much much more. And if you'd also read my comment more thoroughly, I stated that I thought those two pictures of Katharine were not very good, so I didn't really care what she was wearing in those pictures, I was talking about in general outside of the photoshoot. And then I gave you links to examples of pictures that show how Katharine's body is much smaller and not similar to Mariah's in any way. Try looking at them.

I was replying to Mazen and yet you've taken that whole highlighted sentence and responded to it as if it was replying to yours and as if it was in context to yours. I only mentioned you as exactly that, a small mention just to show someone else also brought the clothes into it, I wasn't replying to the context in which you used it. I read your post properly thanks, and didn't see the need to reply to it. But then Mazen brought up one point that you has also mentioned and I replied to him. However, I'll reply to yours a little now as well - what I have said is that their clothing is not necessarily the major factor in peoples hypocrisy because even when they're both wearing minimal clothing, the body type is deemed better for one than the other, and the same in regards to other people hence there are probably other factors. Just because some people don't like the way a person dresses in general doesn't mean that they should be blind to the similarities between that person and another (more popular for looks) when it comes down to it.

Also, your opinions/personal preferences e.g 'the fact that Mariah dresses hideously makes her figure look worse than it sort of already is' and 'the way Katharine dresses compliments her [pretty good] figure much much more' are not facts. You also just highlighted what I was saying, they have similar body shapes, yet you describe Mariah's in the negative ('look worse than it sort of already is') and Katherines in the positive ('[pretty good] figure much much more') - so other factors may be at play.

I saw that you said you didn't think the photos were not that good... and? You said that in reply to my initial post and I wasn't replying to your post so I wasn't contradicting what you said when I was replying to Mazen. What I said still stands, I initially noted the vastly positive response in the thread and still, the majority of posts here are in favour - whereas if this was a thread for someone with a similar body shape but who is less popular in terms of looks (even when all parties are fit/healthy), it wouldn't have been so nice. That is all I was saying.

As for the pics showing size - I'm not talking about scale, I'm talking about shape. You also picked an unobjective pic of Mariah for comparsion (the second link doesn't go to yoru designated choice). But I'm aware of their body shape anyway.

As for the rest, I'm just gonna keep it really short.

-I think the majority would agree that Mariah could dress better and work to be in a little better shape, which is why her body why her body was "decsribed in the negative".
-Some clothes have a tendency to compliment your body, and some don't. Clothes can sort make the body look different, and if one or the other dressed differently it may effect people's opinions on what their body looks like. This is why I brought that up in the first place, since Katharine knows how to dress her "curvy" body.
-Although Katharine's body shape may be similar, she is clearly smaller and more fit/in better shape than most people "similar to her size", and I think you know that, or at least you know that it's smaller.
-There's also not just a body, there's the FACE as well, and Katharine has a very pretty face. Prettier than most stars out there. I know, I know, opinion. But I don't see all these other "curvy" women that are so similar to Katharine in the modelling industry.
-You're probably right, others with this "similar body shape" maybe not get the vast positive response that Katharine got. Katharine does photograph very well, her body is smaller in comparison to most of these women with "similar body shapes", she's not a butterface. Although I'm still not completely seeing the similarities between Mariah's and Katharine's body shape (I'm not seeing quite as much "curve" as you're seeing, I guess, but I suppose there are some similarities), I do agree that Katharine would get better feedback in general, which must mean that if their bodies are so similar and one is getting better feedback, that there are other factors? Not everyone cuts the head off a poster and worships what's under it. I think actions may also come into play, as Katharine has not truly embarrassed herself yet like Mariah has (the whole "breakdown" thing, and the painted on abs. Don't know how many would find that sexy or anything). I know you must be thinking how irrelevant this all is, so let me break it down for you and say that I'm just explaining how other factors may effect the feedback one gets in a situation like this.

I didn't say I don't understand why you are responding to me, I said you were responding to my post as if it was written to yours, which it wasn't, hence it wasn't tailored to your post and so when you responded to it, your response wasn't in line with it or in context. Basically my post was tailored to Mazen's post, I just mentioned you in passing and you took more than that to respond to. If I had replied directly to you, (which I did today), the post would have been (and was today) tailored to exactly what you said. So in a roundabout way, in this particular case, you responded to my initial post (again and with extra) via what I said to Mazen, and it sort of twisted things. Does that make sense?

Point 1 - What you think is what you think, I wont speak for the majority, tons of people think Mariah is hot but on this forum there is a lot of negativity and it seems that even when she is fit that negativity is still propelled onto her looks. Like there were plenty of bikini pics a while back with vitriol everywhere but had they been of another star of the same/similar shape and fitness, who was more popularly liked for her looks on this forum, it would have have been a different response.
Point 2 - Yes, different cuts and designs of clothing suit certain body shapes better than others but I'm talking about the hypocrisy - e.g. even when totally dressed down/not wearing much, one will get bashed and the other praised.
3. This one doesn't make sense. How can we generally say one person (Katherine) is fitter or smaller than most others similar to her size? If they are similar in size then they are similar in size.
4. Yes there's a face, are you saying that because she has a nice face she is viewed better than others even if the body is similar? Some people let the body influence them more, some let the face, some look at both so I don't know what you're getting at there. The modelling industry? Well of course not, arms, hips and thighs like Katherine's aren't generally encouraged, there are niche markets in the modelling industry for shapes other than the very thin or thin but with bigger bust (and an exaggerated sashayed walk to give the look of having bigger hips). But we weren't talking about models anyway...
5. Again, how can you say or know that Katherine is smaller than most women with the same or similar body type? She's 3/4 inches above the average height for a woman and she has rounded limbs. As for her not being a 'butterface', in comparison to what? Other women who have the same/similar body shape. As for being photogenic - remember the pics you used in your first rely? Those could have been taken from an average photoshoot with around 70-90 to 120-150 overall shots. The photographer also carefully positions the subject and moves around to get their best angles on camera. They are also digitally enhanced. Whereas the one you posted of Mariah was a candid and a candid that seemes to be taken at an inconvenient time and unflattering angle and they were not at a similar level of fitness at the time. Now Im not saying that Katherine doesnt look good in untouched photos or candids, just that it's a blanket statement to say someone photographs well in very fixed conditions and from the best shots of a shoot.

Now that last bit of your post is what I'm saying. People on here seem to let other factors affect their responses to people's looks to such an extent that it gets hypocritical... and no, I wasn't thinking how irrelevant your post was but I was thinking that by the time you got to the end of your post, you weren't breaking anything down for me. You just expressed what I have been saying all along.
