Ask yourself this. Do you know anyone in real life who buys full albums on a regular basis? I probably know around 2 or 3 people who do it frequently. The average person would probably only be aware of singles. For most artists, it is only their real supporters who buy the records. There are exceptions to this, like Adele for example or Taylor Swift.

Ke$han is under performing because: she doesn't have a large fan base and doesn't have the right single which captivates the attention of the public for them to actually spend money on her whole record this time around. Her name alone cannot sell.

I fear the year's totals will end up really low. At like 310 million.. With a 5 to 10% drop year to year.

Labels also failed to launch really succesful new artists this year except for One Direction.

My fave is doing wonderfully. Sorry girls. Also, Bruno isn't underperforming, and the "fads" are doing what they are supposed to... Fade away!

I feel like his promo has sucked though regarding mentioning the release date. It's like, people know he has an album coming out, but don't know when. I am a fan and I kept forgetting when it was coming out. I wouldn't have known if it wasn't for ATRL.

And not all artists are strong first week sellers. This is his second album, so we only have 1 album to compare it to. I think his numbers were great, honestly.
