Adele isn't a superior vocalist even in today's climate. She hasn't done any vocally challenging songs. She has great control and that's where her vocal talent peaks. Kelly, Carrie, P!nk, Bey, Xtina(it some cases), Florence, J-Hud, Leona and some others are past her vocally. People allow sales to blind them much like hate but Adele is a good vocalist at best and decent at worst.

Personally I feel like beyonce strains her voice when she sings high notes or when she wants to sound like she has power. It's too forced. Adele sounds way more natural and her technique is perfect especially in songs like melt my heart to stone. overall beyonce is known as a great performer but not so much as a legendary vocalist. Not like Adele or Christina

Adele is known for her material, not as a legendary vocalist. And Xtina has completely tarnished the image she once had, and it wasnt legendary to begin with, Mariah, Whitney, Aretha, Patti, Celine, Shania, Alanis and various others are considered legendary vocalists because of their work and slaying simply with vocals but Adele is nowhere near consideration for legendary status yet and Xtina couldn't even slay with her vocals enough to be considered legendary.

I think Florence would've been a better option than Adele since she's a Mezzo - soprano like Beyonce. Adele would be better compared with Contralto singers like Gaga and Alexandra.
