The pop princess of the moment has been bested by the queen. Britney Spears narrowly beat out Taylor Swift and earned more money than any other gal singing her heart out this year, according to Forbes’ latest list of music’s top-earning women.
OMG, S&S outselling TTWE would be the most embarrassing thing EVER.
I'm praying it doesn't.
I still wish will.i.am had given her a bigger part in the song, it's annoying as hell that she's the main reason for the song's success and people KEEP asking if it's her singing in the song and saying that she barely sings. You have Britney Spears featuring on your song and you give her a couple of lines to SAY?
I can't.
Why are you all acting like it's only 30 seconds? She has a pretty big part. The song could use more Britney, but it's not a Britney track. It's understandable.
The new Britney news has me listening to Gimme More. The best feeling I've ever gotten from listening to a leaked Britney song was from this song and it remains one of her best.
I actually wouldn't mind a more adult oriented album as well. I know Britney doesn't have to sing about her personal life, but FF is devoid of any sort of substance. Even Circus has some songs geared towards that. And there's nothing wrong with party songs or feel good songs, but I would love something more adult.

I guess I'm just not used to features with her.
I think it's because she 'talks' in the song rather than 'sing' that it makes her parts seem shorter than they are. Oh well, nothing we can do about it now.
Whether someone sees it as a Britney success or not, it proves Britney needs to go back to more Urban, "cooler" sounds and not the teenage pop - which is what is important. The song's success is nevertheless keeping her HOT. "Gimme More," "Piece of Me," "Womanizer" and "Circus" (well the latter kind of bombed worldwide).. but the first three all have a Rhythmic lean to them (as does "Scream & Shout") and connected to the audiences globally. So I hope she see's that.
Most of you are just worried about what the **** ATRL members will have to say. So pathetic, who cares Queen is heading to 20 years of relevancy. Get over SYG.

As for if Britney has the ability to push 500k+ first week again, yes she can. Her fanbase is rabid and she's still so charming, casual buyers would swing around too. Only in the Holidays, however. And with music that will push said buyers to purchase the album. B's fans are serious, it wouldn't be tough under the right circumstances.
Also I can guarantee FF did not sell 276k "because it came off Circus". 'Circus' era ended after December 2008, Britney's openings are entirely up to how they present the album's release.
Its chart positions look like it flopped worldwide. I think it was kinda overshadowed by Womanizer.
I have no idea how it sold as much as it did WW tbh.
TTWE charted better outside the US for the most part.
Maybe because it was released in december?
there was a lot of competition and new releases by the end of 2008 and specially december 2008.... So that could be the reason of the non-impressive peaks ... but sales could be still strong you know
you guys are forgetting FF opened with ~270k in MARCH, one of the slowest sales periods of the year with the promo performances being some of the worst ones she has ever done and looking probably the worst she has in her career (at least during the album promo for sure). if anything, it turned the general public away from buying the album, so i still believe that her promo actually hurt FF's opening sales.
That’s a reach. The album was predicted to sell 270k before she had done promo. The predictions went up to 270-290k after she promoted. The little promo she did was on shows no one watches, so it didn’t help much and, thankfully, not many people watched the “performances.”
