Yes and I wonder if this long break will actually hurt her rather than benefit her dancehall:

So Madge will no doubt blast Gaga for trying to rip her off yet again.
|
And I'm sure Gaga will just pay the 50k fine if she really has to .
I mean with so many of the girls FLOPPING this year it concerns me

There's no link anywhere, I think someone made it up.
I honestly could not at that thread about Gaga potentially being arrested. I understand not liking Gaga, but agreeing with anti-gay hate laws in Russia just to go against her is so sad.

Really?
No shade to you, but if you have other things to occupy your time, it's really not that hard to wait a year or so. The trials and tribulations of being a stan. I personally have faith in her that she's doing something amazing for ARTPOP, so I'm not too worried about the wait... yet.

Well, I can't say for sure, but... Breaks are never beneficial to pop artists. Look at Blackout, Spirit Indestructible... Even Hard Candy.
As much as people complain about Rihanna, she's actually doing it right. By keeping her music on the radio. And it's also... kinda obvious when you're hearing "Umbrella" on the radio in 2012, but not anything by Gaga. ( not even "Bad Romance," "Poker Face," etc.)
I'm kinda worried.

It's been longer than a year... To the public, she hasn't had a single on the radio since Y&I. And some haven't heard her since TEOG. That is a problem.

That's not a problem at all, though. Some of you overestimate the importance of things. As long as ARTPOP has catchy singles, it doesn't matter how long she stays gone, she will be welcomed. Some of you are letting ATRL and Internet stans twist you into thinking Gaga is gone and/or people hate her. People are wondering where she's at and she will return soon enough.

Is she getting recurrent airplay? I hear her on my local station, but I haven't heard her on the ones that count towards Mediabase and BDS, and I have no idea how to look at an artist's overall recurrent numbers.

Breaks can do just as much good as bad. Also I hear poker face and bad romance way more often than umbrella on the radio station. Nelly Furtado was never a big artist outside of 2006/2007 so it's not like she was a major popstar. Britney also had a massive decline in popularity due to her mental breakdown and album/single sales tanked hard during that time. Madonna had been on several breaks longer than gaga has before the release of hard candy. Xtina takes 4 year breaks for her music and Beyonce normally takes longer breaks than Gaga has, sometimes they do well and sometimes they flop. P!nk took a rather big break and are has come back stronger than ever getting her first #1 album.
If you need any further proof look at Taylor Swift. She releases her albums exactly 2 years apart and every time she come back just as popular. Gaga has only gone a year and a half since BTW and she's still very much been in the public eye even on her media break she had more articles written about her than most pop girls.

I think breaks are only bad for artists who don't have big fanbases waiting for their return. Britney is a special exemption because of her breakdown and what she went through.
I think we're so engulfed in the Gaga world that we don't have an unbiased few on the outside world. To us, it's like GAGA'S GONE, WHERE IS SHE, but to the GP it's not even an issue. When Gaga returns, she'll return.

It has nothing to do with what I do with my time over a year is still over a year Besides I wasn't complaining about the wait as much as the other stans on here do I'm concerned if waiting this long will affect sales

Well, Taylor's eras are actually spaced out nicely, so it's not as though she was completely off the radio. Not to mention, she's left digital tracks behind for her fans to tide them over. Even last year, when she released those three bonus tracks from the Target Exclusive edition of Speak Now to iTunes, her fans reacted positively to them and bought 'em in droves. It even gave her another country single to put out while she had stuff from the Hunger Games soundtrack on the radio. So her situation was very different.
It's also unknown whether she'll be streamed enough on Spotify to chart high, so we have that to "look forward to" as well, I guess.

I forget that most stans only stan for sales and bragging rights.
Who cares about sales if it's amazing? I mean, sure, being able to brag is nice, but would you rather a crap album that sells well or an amazing album that doesn't sell well?
