Simon Cowell is reportedly planning to offer Nicole Scherzinger a large pay rise of she will return to The X Factor next year.
The Pussycat Doll not only won the series with her contestant James Arthur but she got two of her boys to the final and it was James and Jahmene Douglas who battled for the winner’s title on Sunday night.
She may have started on shaky ground earlier in the year but Nic finished the 2012 run widely seen as the public’s favourite judge and Simon knows he needs some of that positivity back on the panel next year.
It’s been reported that he’s planning to axe Tulisa Contostavlos and Gary Barlow is going to leave of his own accord, but if the music mogul gets his way Scherzinger will serve a second year on the ITV show.
However Nicole recently revealed she may not be returning, claiming: “I’m really glad I did the show. I don’t know if I’ll come back next year. End on a high, right?”
An X Factor source told the Daily Mail: “Nicole has had a phenomenally successful year. She has established herself as part of the X Factor family.
“Simon is prepared to pull out all the stops to make sure she comes back, including offering her a huge pay rise. She has been a revelation, by far and away the most popular judge.”
If the rumours so far are to be believed, it sounds like Nicole will be joined by Louis Walsh once more if she does make a comeback.
