Clearly yes. The legend did it first.

Obviously. Legend X has done anything ever first.

What is so shocking about that video? She was clearly asked whether she thought Christina was stealing her look, to which she replied that while their looks are similar, she couldn't say whether Christina drew any inspiration from her, but if she did she would be happy because Christina is a "****ing superstar".
But you can all keep trying.

But if both Christina Aguilera and Lady Gaga get their influences from Warhol directly,
but Christina Aguilera did it before Lady Gaga... wouldn't it look like Lady Gaga
was influenced by Christina Aguilera? The media will have a field day.
These premonitions I'm having are REAL. Listen to them.

I think that's what she was doing during 2008 but idk what happened with Bionic because it's not the same pop art concept/imagery/looks that she had when her GH came out. It changed for some reason some stans told me.. but I forgot.

No because THOUSANDS of people did it before Christina and despite what you may think, I don't think most people in the GP think "Warhol" when they think of her. She may have been influenced by Warhol for Keeps Gettin' Better and Bionic, but very few people in the GP even use those albums.
And if by some chance, the media does try to make something out of this, so what? Look what happened with BTW and EY and BTW still ended up being one of her biggest hits.

Understandable, but there is one big difference... Christina Aguilera OWN the imagery of the
50's and 60's, just like Lady Gaga OWNS "being weird." So if Lady Gaga ventures into
the 50's and 60's, it's definitely a bigger deal than, "I'm just inspired by Warhol."

How Christina own 50's and 60's Madonna was first to use 50's blonde pin up girl look, it's her signature look....

Christina always says that she gets inspired by Madonna so there's no need to argue about that.

Does she? I only really have a passing knowledge of Christina's works, but besides the Candyman video, nothing has really struck me as her "owning" the 50's and 60's and making it her definitive look.
In any event, we can't really make comparisons until ARTPOP is out, yeah? You could go a million different directions with Warhol, so it could end up being completely different from how Christina did it.

I agree. That's one of the reasons why I created this thread, to highlight that when Christina
Aguilera immerses herself into a specific concept, it's just as powerful and visually sharp
as her contemporaries. The visual concepts for both "Bionic" and "Keeps Gettin' Better
(A Decade Of Hits)" were both very striking and very 60's with a modern twist, and
if that's something Lady Gaga is going for with "ARTPOP," comparisons to
Christina Aguilera will be inevitable. Tread carefully, Gaga.

Let's be honest here; it all boils down to the fact that both Xtina and Lady Gaga have always been more visual in their album concepts and imagery and fashion
X was playing with different looks, reinventing herself after her debut and has continued to do so. She played with fashion and even became really good friends with some of the world's best fashion designers (Roberto Cavalli, Donatella Versace, etc) and launched fashion campaigns. Her B2B album was very thematic and her imagery for that era was very unique in the sense that it went against what every other popstar during THAT time was doing. Now the whole pop stars doing jazz, burlesque, throwback pin-up girl is cliche. She also mentioned her love her pop art, not just old pop art like Warhol but even current stuff like Banksy (she bought one of his controversial pieces in 2006). I mean just look at the pictures of her house, she is very artsy.
Lady Gaga is doing the same but at a more abstract level. She's friends with so many designers, has very thematic albums, etc.
There was a reason why I fell in love with Gaga so much during the Fame, she reminded me so much of X.

That's possible but even if people start compare them in the future Gaga is not inspired by Xtina so who cares...

I don't even give a **** about those things anymore.
The only thing I know is that Xtina's look during the Bionic era was too damn flawless and it wasn't a gaga rip off or anything.
+ Gaga wouldn't look good with that hairstyle, make up cause her face is totally different.
NOW, can we all wait until ARTPOP drops and then enjoy it?
Thanks.

Negative. Lady Gaga has already admitted that she is. So is it so implausible to believe that
she would borrow ideas from her? In this case, from the "Bionic" and "Keeps Gettin' Better
(A Decade Of Hits)" eras. Of course, she would never admit it publicly, at this point.

I agree, Christina Aguilera is probably the most influenced by Madonna. The difference is that Christina Aguilera manages to maintain her own identity while drawing influences from Madonna. So, even though Madonna touched on some imagery from the 50's and 60's in her work, it was Christina Aguilera who took that imagery to another level and made it a signature of her career and now the strong 50's and 60's visuals are very much Christina Aguilera's, during our generation. That's why Lady Gaga should re-examine her visual concepts for "ARTPOP" if 60's pop art is her focus. Just some friendly advice.
