I'm a freshman in my first semester of college, and I'm already on my second crazy roommate situation.
Roommate #1: Did not talk to me at all, we had nothing in common. Did not talk to anyone on the floor I was friends with either. Very awkward. Had a girl over the night we moved in, did not warn me he wanted the cake, and I was not leaving for that ratchet mess. Race may have been an issue, but I refused to admit it. He finally changed rooms to be with his group of friends.
Roommate #2: Normal guy, I already knew him when he moved in, so we were friends. Everything seemed fine. Problem: Psycho relationship issues. Him and his girlfriend started dating in the summer when they met at a college tour. They act like they've been together for years, not months. They have a nasty break up, screaming and fighting and pushing loud enough for the entire floor to hear... during exams week. He has anxiety and complains on the phone. Mess.
So, as I see it, these are my options:
A. Put up with this ******** from Roommate #2 during spring semester (most likely)
B. Pray for a better roommate next year. If that fails, leave campus and commute.
C. Commute beginning fall semester.
D. Transfer to another school because this school is ****ed up. (least likely, but still serious)
I cannot live home because it is far from my school and there are no good schools within commuting distance from home. I need a break from the family anyway so that's cool.
This is perfect.
My ****ing roommate leaves his door open and blasts his music and video games. And when he loses he's like **** ***** ******!!
It's so annoying
I'm also a freshman and did random roommates and it turned out great. My roommate and I are basically best friends. We get along well, and we rarely have issues. He respects my time if I have a girl over and I respect his. I couldn't be happier.
But eventually I need to move out (definitely into off campus housing), but it's so hard because I've saving a sheisse load of money from simply driving to campus

**** you. (I mean this in the nicest way.) I'm just tired of hearing this success story from people.
Wait, there must be someone you are good friends with who wants to share a room with you next semester.
But maybe look for other schools, you may be able to get some subjects cut off 'cause you already took them and have a better time in another community.
In my city most unis are at a reasonable commuting distance so I don't have those kind of problems.

Last year my roommate was the most annoying, vial, crass, dispicable creature on earth.
He was short, had this whiny high pitched voice, and when he played video games he made sure to put the volume up and scream as loud as possible. His tv was always loud too, so it made it hard to study when I told him to bring it down. He goes to bed at ****ing 8, and tells me to turn off the light when he sees me doing homework, even though the lights are dim to begin with.
He smells since he's a swimmer, that smell of chlorine permeates the room and I had to try to freshen it every chance I get. And he would do these annoying things like talk with his mouth open while screaming.
And then he would have the nerve to masterbate in the damn room while I'm right in front of him. Disgusting I don't want to see you pleasure yourself. He would do all sorts of things that pissed me off, so I was hardly in my room.
I'm 15 but the university I plan on attending is about an hour drive. Not bad enough for me to have to leave my home to go live on campus.
Anyways, if it was me in that situation, I don't think you have it as rough as some other people do. They'll eventually break up and your roommate will get the **** over it.
