What do you "catered much more to their time"? Run The World is POP and it wasn't too successful?

Her R&B/Soul records weren't as successful because the US is the only country that really uses R&B and the US doesn't even use it anymore.

At some level Race does play a factor. I can't at y'all acting like it doesn't exist. I mean ACE just post an article a few weeks ago about how they're only 4 women of color to have a TOP 10 hit this decade.

but the primary reason is the music & entertainment style. Gaga makes POP music while Beyonce is more urban. And most people would rather see someone doing flips, and all types of circus freak ****. (no shade to Gaga) than a traditional singer/dancer. Also Rihanna makes Popular and her style as an entertainer is totally opposite to Beyonce's.
