I thought Ke$ha was gonna slay with this album tbh.
It's a shame cause it's one of my favorite albums of the year.

nnnnn;n;;nnnn;n at you Gaga stans in here laughing when "The Fame" opened up with 24k riding off of one of the biggest hits of the millenium.
Nobody, aside of a few delusional stans, expected this album to sell over 200k - so I ask you to stop using the 2 people on this site as a generalization. Most of our expectations were at the HDD mark - while some more reasonable ones placed it at 100k. I personally didn't think she'd hit 125k, and, welp.
First week sales don't matter. They're just a benchmark bragging right. Most of the pop girls have had really dismal openings before. i.e. Katy only managing to pull 190k after a 500k predicition, Femme Fatales miss of the HDD prediction and only opening with 270k after having two of the biggest songs of the year and one of the biggest radio hits ever.
Granted, those numbers aren't as bad as this, but were you all seriously expecting her to sell over 150k? You act like we all thought she was going to have the highest sales week. She has never been an albums seller, and she never will be.
What is key here is longevity. Animal went on to sell 3million WW after a dismal opening week. All she needs to do is play her cards right and you'll all be biting your tongues when it's legs grow in.

LOL at some keshafans comparing debut album weeks of new artists with warrior, that's a completely different escenario where the artists is barely known at the beginning, kesha is flopping with this album, and I can't see any single helping it selling more if die young didn't even make it reach the 100k mark the debut week.
Warrior debut sales are horrendous everywhere, there's no excuses for a pop star like her, just deal with it.

Gaga was a nobody when The Fame debuted...Just Dance wasn't even huge at the time...it went #1 after the album debuted
