As society becomes more technologically advanced, one could argue that the demand for books will dwindle as literary sources can be accessed via the internet. Such is starting to be the case in schools. Elementary and high schools are beginning to use tablets in lieu of textbooks. You can now purchase and rent "e-books" online.
So the question still stands. Will books become obsolete in the near future?
They'll lose their relevance. But I'm sure there will still be a niche market for them, since staring at a tablet too long can sometimes give you a headache

Hence why theyre making things like the Kindle Paperwhite that's easy on your eyes. It's gonna become more and more better though.
The thing I will miss most about Physical books, is feeling the book the whole time, and feeling how many pages along you are, and seeing most of the pages on the other side, and feeling an accomplishment when you are on the last 3 pages and literally holding the book in the other hand.
I could see them making something like a book but digitally. With the same feeling and everything. Digital newspapers too but you'd never have to get a new one. Sounds crazy now but you never know about the future.
I hope not. E-books are disgusting.
My eyes always hurt after a few minutes and I get easily distracted when I'm reading in a computer.
!!!!!
My university is already trying to digitize everything and put all the readings online. Sometimes it's a real pain in the ass having to read 20 page assignments on a computer screen.
