If you take into account the amount of people she played to at each show, they're all pretty successful. I mean if she sold 40k out of 50k in Chile, that doesn't necessarily mean it's a flop date, it just means that after 5 years, she's past selling out arenas, but not quite there yet when it comes to stadiums.

With all the great reviews, she's building up good rapport for her future tours.

Madonna is a different case, cause she also attracts the oldest people with more money.

I'm not trying to be racist, classist or ANYTHING negative here, but statistically the concerts are charging prices that many of the people interested in the artist/show tend to have trouble affording.

The other girls aren't on Madonna's level yet.

Madonna is the biggest female touring force in existance. In 2008, Argentina's stadium had to re arrange the VIP seatings to add more because of demand.

The prices are too high, I believe the tickets to see Britney were cheaper in the USA than in Chile and Venezuela. You have to considerate also that not many artists used to tour South America so everytime a big artist played here, they would sell out. Now, things have changed, for instance this year you had Gaga and Madonna touring SA with a small difference of time so it's obvious that one of them would have more problems to sell than the other. Also Madonna applies to a much diverse public and most of her fans are grown up so they can pay for her tickets.
They won't stop touring SA though because they still make money here. I got my tickets to see Gaga with a "buy a ticket and get another for free" deal, but I still paid $50 per ticket for a standing area.

I would LOVE to see the gross of the FFT in Chile. The tickets were really expensive and she sold 45k+ according to the national press.

Consider the fact that they have to carry the sets/stages across the world for each tour date. Obviously American tour dates are cheaper because the sets don't cost a lot of money to transport!

That has nothing to do with touring. Katy could only play in SA because of Rock In Rio.

She did a seperate sold out 25k show in Brazil and a sold out 18k date in Argentina.

You should do your research. Her Argentinian date was part of Pepsi Music Festival. She wasnt the only one playing.

Yes but we've got big stadiums, I'm sure they can get the money back by increasing the available tickets but charging something reasonable considering the economy of the country.

Ticket prices. My FF Tour ticket cost me more than $500.

And some others can stay cancelling their tours and pretend they're big.
