I did. Saying "she is great at guitar" isn't really being specific when she doesn't warrant the comment to begin with. She hasn't really done anything innovative with the instrument besides playing barre chords than alot of people can do, hence why I said that.

One of my favorite ever Gaga TV appearances. She was so cute and brilliant the whole show.

Saying she plays a "great" guitar in the context of her own show is not the same as Katy busting out into "Keep Yourself Alive" or something.

Katy is perfectly competent at playing guitar for her needs as a singer songwriter, but everything I've seen she's mostly just playing chords, not even using many appregios or interesting picking patterns or rhythms, certainly not busting out any note runs. Shes basically at the same level of most guitar playing singers. You want to go see some really good guitar playing and singing, go look at Jason Mraz or Brooke Miller. You want to see GREAT acoustic guitar playing, go see Laurence Juber or Doyle ****s or Michael Hedges or Kaki King.

Gaga has not shown herself to this point at being at the equivalent piano level of someone like Juber either, but she has certainly shown a higher level of facility than average piano players, and a very natural touch on the instrument which only comes to those who have played it a long time. Interestingly, during the BTW era she has deemphasized and simplified her playing since earlier in her career. I hope at some point she pushes herself back the other direction, I'd love to see what she can do.

What we should be happy about is that both Katy and Gaga are capable musicians. I give Gaga the edge for pure musicianship, and I like Gaga's music better, but I also like some of Katy's stuff. I'm glad we have both.

Playing the piano is far more difficult than playing an acoustic guitar so that alone puts Gaga ahead. Still, Gaga is a much better.

My sisters and I learned classical piano around ages 13-15 and I can't play any type of guitar other than Guitar Hero.

Neither is that great tbh, but Katy's guitar skills >>> the other.

In E.T. the chorus has electric guitars in it, and in the second verse of TOTGA and onwards there's guitars.

She recieved a production credit on "Pearl" along with Greg Wells, and is credited as playing instruments in Hummingbird Heartbeat, Who Am I Living For, and Pearl.

Also on OOTB she completley wrote a number of songs by herself, which would mean that she would need a guitar to create the melodies and such, since a writing credit isn't just writing the lyrics.

I think I hear what you're talking about in The One That Got Away now though. You mean those stabs? They're pretty low in the song though.

And the booklet Im looking at doesn't credit her for production on Pearl or playing instruments on those songs. Did the credits get changed for a later version or are you looking at something else?
