God damn I just cant deal when y'all say people forget about Gaga. Her putting on a few pounds caused a media shitstorm and her perfume has been selling incredibly well. Not to mention most of the award shows this year flopped in ratings, I'm not saying it's totally because Gaga did not attend but that was obviously one of the big reasons. She has a massive following and is just too big to fade away/ be forgotten that easily. The first single will debut with huge numbers based on her name alone, that's a given. I'm only worried about the era's longevity.
Well, remember, the GP has a very short attention span and, in terms of popular culture, hardly retains what it sees on TV and hears on the radio. So, it's not far-fetched to say they forget about her up until they hear those gossip stories or hear one of her recurrents on Top 40. (I haven't heard BR on the radio in a very long time, though...)

Ke$ha after Cannibal and now releasing Warrior just after 2 years...
We have to remember that Gaga's GP audience are the top 40 listeners, and when they don't hear about somebody in 2 years, they are going to go to the next big thing.

Honestly, I don't think she'll tank that hard with album sales. At least, she should be fine the first week. As long as she scans Gold, I'm good.

Comparing Nelly Furtado and Ke$ha to Lady Gaga? They have never had a strong fanbase or huge public recognition to begin with. Gaga's (overall) popularity on the other hand far exceeds her music.

That's true, but I think her fanbase is big enough to secure the instant success of the lead single and the public will (hopefully) follow suit when she starts promoting.
If she actually gave us some kind of RELIABLE info we wouldn't be speculating this much *cries*

I know she wont flop but i really PRAY radio supports her this time.
Most of Taylor Swift's Speak Now singles underperformed because of the lack of radio support but the popish ones she released this era like WANEGBT and IKYWT have been doing incredibly well. Gaga has not done anything that makes people truly want to boycott her so no worries. But let's hope the lady herself is aware of that

2 years is average though. Even for top 40 listeners. Ke$ha and the crew never really had huge album sales or obscenely large fanbases anyway. You can say that the GP has a short attention span, sure. But they sure have not forgotten about her. And just because your flop radio station hasn't played Gaga doesn't mean she's forgotten

If the songs are radio-friendly/catchy enough I don't see why not.
But Bad Romance even could not get too much radio support. I mean lots of Katy and Rihanna singles(and not even their biggest songs. Just their moderate hits) were bigger on radio than Gaga's bests.

The problem is that she never had a huge audience impression. But they were very big at that time. What happened was that Katy and Rihanna blew over her with their impressions (even Ke$ha) Hopefully she'll have a bigger radio hit this time.
Gaga has not done anything that makes people truly want to boycott her so no worries. But let's hope the lady herself is aware of that
