Right?! I was bopping to this for days when it first came out. I still do on occasion.
Mainstream audiences know now Nicki is capable of more, so I really don't see them being responsive to her being boxed in (which is what we want to be honest).
She should just focus on urban and rhythmic radio, and then return to mainstream radio with the more appealing stuff in a couple of years.

Nicki's has called Roman Holiday Hip-Hop. She said Here I Am and I'm the Best are Hip-Hop, along with tracks like Blow Ya Mind, Dear Old Nicki, Fly, and especially her saying M4L was Hip-Hop.
See, now I understand. You don't understand the different facets of Hip-Hop, as well as what Nicki considers Hip-Hop. It all makes SENSE. It's very ignorant of you not to know all the sub-genres of Hip-Hop.
The US would consider all the above HIP-HOP, but it's clearly different in the UK or whatever.
Truth is, I will never consider it equal to any of the other genres. Some individual tracks are brilliant, of which Nicki has a fair few, but overall I just don't find the appeal.
Eminem is the only other hip hop artist I love, though he is very poppy with his approach and style.
I like alternative hip hop a lot though, and obviously love grime and garage, which were all inspired by hip hop but are progressive.
I've been so emotional about Nicki. When i watched the tour video, she picked up a news paper and was like, there i am, ugly as always. I'm always ugly. i literally wanted to start crying. it's so obvious that these papers pick THE worse image to display of her. they'll pick an amazing picture of someone else then a picture of Nicki talking or singing. She should take legal action. I would make a clause that you can't use my image if it isn't approved.
I would have my team pick out images for the media to choose from. this mess is soo tired.
