Nobody knows about that Letterman performance, and SNL pulls in way more ratings than Letterman. Lana would have only recovered if she had done a flawless performance on another major show. She hasn't worked on trying to clean up her image in the U.S., and that will hurt her in the long run. 400k is decent sales for a new artist, but a lot of those sales come from people like you see here, and eventually a lot of them will move on.
This was as obvious as the Rihanna/Chris saga. I've said for several months that the Grammys would pay Lana dust, but people here kept saying how she fits the Grammy mold and how her international success would get her a bunch of nominations and wins. Really, she has no hits, little acclaim, little sales, extremely low profile and polarizing style. She never fit the Grammy mold. And dead @ the Lana stans acting so above the Grammys when they were the ones saying that she would slay hard.
