Its not because she's unknown That's not an excuse, maybe it was because there was better releases. All the categories she could've been nominated in, the ones that got in were better.
Her album got an indifferent critical reception in the US, sales have been good but not stellar (IIRC its not yet Gold in the US), and she had no mayor hits off it (Video games was a hit well before the Album came out). The only people shocked at her not getting any nominations are those people who did not want to be realistic about her chances.
She isn't that big/known here. Sometimes albums or artists that aren't mainstream get nominated, but because they have critical acclaim on their side and Lana doesn't really.
what's up with the "she's not known" responses? she is much more known than people like frank ocean and pretty much the rest of the BNA nominees except fun.
She never broke the US market. Her material was strong enough but she wasn't promoted the right way. They should've given her a commercial and at least a supporting act with Coldplay or someone huge in US.
