They might become iconic, not they look no different from a lot of new towers going up worldwide.

What made the Twin Towers iconic was just that, being Twins.

Name one building that looks like the new WTC. I can't think of any.

Just because it's made of glass doesn't mean it's like every other building.

And the Twin towers weren't like any other buildings besides themselves either - the point is general design, not specific look. Jesus.

Actually there's an building that looks exactly like 1WTC already built in china, i forgot where but i'll look for the receipts.
The twins towers stood against every architectural trend and they managed to look awe inspiring and unique, the freedom tower is the complete opposite.

I wouldn't care about either, both are great imo.

The original were the very definition of ICONIC, but the new ones look futuristic and cool too.

I prefer the original ones but the new design are going to be a nice addition to New York City's skyline.

I enjoyed reading through all the posts of people who don't even live in NYC arguing if the Twin Towers were hated or not and using their dusty ass families as receipts.

Everyone had different opinions on them, neither answer is correct. People loved and hated them, just like people hate and love the Freedom Tower.

Anyway, I have some sort of attachment to the Freedom Tower because I walked by for four years going to class as it was being built so it literally 'grew' on me.

The new ones look so out of place.
