that's not the same thing, the RedOne remix was remixed completely with a different instrumental and Akon's verse taken out and Kardinal Offichall's as a substitute. according to BB's rules it would be considered a completely different song.

I'm not complaining, I'd rather face the ridicule of the TOTGA fiasco because it peaked as high or higher than 4/5 of Gaga's singles from BTW. Like, you can either have a huge, unfounded sense of dignity or you can do what it takes to succeed, and Katy did the latter.

they were the same songs, just added rappers. like the instrumentals never changed. that's how she was able to get away with making these remixes and they'd still count toward the ultimate sales points needed for the song itself. BB's rules say that the remixes need to have a certain percent of similarity to the original in order for the two songs' sales to count as one.

that's how S&M got #1, that's how TTWE got #3, and that's how LFN got #1.

Any artist that is so close to #1, would probably take the opportunity. This is especially convenient for Katy, where a record was on the horizon. By the way, Katy is signed to Capitol.

anywho, like i said, throw in a meaningful assistance and not just a rapper for the sake of having a rapper. there a million better artists that could've brought Katy up to #1 for TOTGA and wouldn't have made her seem like a sell out to the entire globe, yet she chooses to keep her rapper thing going.
