This is exactly right.
Gaga may have the most success, but it doesn't change the fact that a great portion of society simply view her as a clown, with some musical talent here or there. Taking into consideration her reception from the wider public, she has always been in the same grouping as the other girls. Not only that, but Katy is a whole lot more loved than Gaga. People genuinely get her. Gaga has the strongest support from her fan community and the demographic she appeals to though.
