I will continue to abuse the word iconic as much as I want, and the others can deal.

That's one definition of iconic. But in a nonreligious context, an iconic image is one that's fully ingrained in popular culture, or synonymous with something larger than itself (like an idea, or a movement, or a time period).

On THIS board, however, it seems to mean whatever the hell you want it to.

So by my decree, the word 'iconic' officially means... eating your own snot.
