People think NYC = Manhattan which is the smallest borough. There are suburban parts, heavily forested parts, beachy parts, remote areas, etc. Not everyone rides the subway, it doesn't even go everywhere.
Another common misconception is that NYC is cold/rainy/snowy/cloudy most of the time, lol not true. In terms of sunshine, NYC is actually closer to Los Angeles than it is to London. Also NYC's winter isn't as bad as it's made out to be. In terms of cold, it's roughly at the halfway point between Houston, TX & Minneapolis, MN (during January). It's still too cold for me though.

Lol well to be honest it is more of the former than the latter, coastal British Columbia is a very small percentage of Canada. Nowhere else in Canada has palm trees.
