She is the only artist to bank four top ten hits this year, and the only artist to get two #1s this year... Not to mention she got her first #1 album this week. She's really "shined" brightly this year... Would you say she has owned 2012 or another artist??? Discuss...

Did Rihanna get the highest first week digital sales of any single by a female artist ever? Did her album sell 1.5M in a week, with the biggest US first week since 2002? Did she win 2 Grammys for a song she wrote on her own? If not, then I believe the Lord owns that title.

I wouldn't say rihanna owned 2012. In fact I'd say fun. Had a top 10 hit playing through almost the entire year. However I'm not really sure anyone owned 2012. I'd guess rihanna would be close to the top, if not the top but it's hardly a clean cut winner as it was with Adele in 2011 or Gaga in 2009/2010 or rihanna in 2007/2008.

Some years there's 1 or 2 artists that really dominate (e.g. Adele and LMFAO in 2011), but really this year there doesn't seem to have been any that dominated.

I think Adele could get artist of the year again. Also been a very good year for Maroon 5, Rihanna, Flo Rida, Taylor Swift and fun.

It's been a ~good~ year for her but no, she was not the artist to own 2012.
