I'm a bit scared for Beyoncé now that Alicia's first week flopped.

You have nothing to be scared about. The King got 310k first week sales even after a flop lead single and a summer release.

Alicia on the other side had a successful lead single and it had a November release and it won't even pull 200k. It's clear that GP is no longer for Alicia anymore.

What does AK's first week sales have to do with Beyonce?

This makes absolutely no sense. Alicia tried to make a midtempo with Nicki Minaj and service it to mainstream and turn the same song into a ballad and service it to urban markets. She didn't appease her core audience nor did she have a massive hit to have the GP compensate for that. Bey is going to properly give urban something whether she does more pop this era or not. She cares about giving her core audience good music. Unlike Alicia who usually makes music for Urban AC but chooses to make a song like Nicki doesn't make music for teenagers. She played herself completely.

It's clear R&B music is OUT it's been that way for awhile now.
