Carly Rae Jepsen, 1 D and Little Mix Top '2012's Most Search
Quote:
One Direction, Little Mix and Carly Rae Jepsen are just some of the artists who have made it onto 2012's 'Most Searched' List, collated by search engine site Bing.
The interesting list, which also includes the most searched celebrities, pregnancies and couples, was compiled throughout the year of the top searches by Britons using the search engine.
Former N-Dubz hitmaker Tulisa has been named the most searched celebrity - no doubt due to the sex tape that was released in May - while Justin Bieber, Cheryl Cole, Whitney Houston and Rihanna have also made the list.
Meanwhile, Little Mix have topped the most searched girl band list - most likely off the back of their X Factor win last December, while 'What Makes You Beautiful' hitmakers One Direction have also been named the most searched boy band.
Canadian singer Carly Rae Jepsen has made the list with her infectious single 'Call Me Maybe' which was named the most searched lyric. Interestingly, V Festival managed to top the most searched festival, no doubt helped by the absence of Glastonbury, which was took a break for the year.

As expected, South Korean rapper Psy's Gangnam Style single was named the top viral video, already knocking up more than 800 million views and reportedly on course to become YouTube's first video to clock up 1 billion views. Bing UK Direction of Search Dave Coplin says it's "fascinating" to discover what has interested the country over the course of the year.
"Every year, the Bing search results give us a unique insight into what and who is top of mind for Brits," Coplin explained.
"It’s always fascinating to see which celebrities have had the biggest impact on Britons throughout the year, and of course it’s no surprise to see that the 2012 Olympics and Olympians have captured our hearts and minds after such a golden summer."
Are you surprised by any of the results?
