This is a reach, though and wasn't HE critiquing R&B and country singers while on the panel.
so yeah, that makes this invalid.

I agree. Especially Nicki. All she needs to do it talk business on Twitter. Anything personal can stay where its at. Or she can just pretend to be SB and talk about all she wants on his Twitter. Nobody pays him any mind anyway.

Omg he wasn't doing anything.
It's not HIS fault that whenever you hear the word "field", your mind automatically goes to slavery. Like, at least use some logic. For one, black people worked in cotton fields, not cornfields. Cornfields are historically known to be a white people thing. Two, how is Nicki sending a white man home to the field, any field for that matter, racist?

People seem to forget that PAULA ABDUL, JENNIFER LOPEZ, Ellen, Simon (Randy plays instruments) judged on AI.
There's is a problem with Nicki who sings well...she's no saaaannnger but she can hold a note.
I mean, we are having this argument in the base

Are you black?
Because when you see the words "Black" and "cornfield" what do you automatically think?
I don't think he was being racist, but a different choice of words would have been smarter.
No one's going to really attempt to analyze what he meant.

It's not a reach; that's exactly what he was saying.
Let's not talk about reaches please.
IDK why I'm defending Steven; I don't even use. But some of you, including Yung Nic, are doing the most.

Well Nicki likes to copy draw inspiration from most artist in the music industry past and present so why not after someone who's highly looked up to and barely in any drama?

But I didn't think of slavery when he posted "field" so why are you inferring that?
What I am saying is that he could have easily stated Mid West if what you are saying is valid. There is no need to be addressing any fields. I mean, was Bob dylan born on a field? You are still speculating (and trying to defend Steven) on what was meant by his tweet.
Can you address the fact that he was critiquing r&b and country artists while he was on the panel? Why is he so bothered with Nicki again?
I'll wait.

He didn't say anything about "black".
He said something like "If Bob Dylan auditioned for American Idol, Nicki Minaj would send him back to the cornfields".
Dylan's from Minnesota. Minnesota—that whole Midwest region—is known for cornfields.
When I think of cornfields, I don't think of black people. There's no connection. Black people were in the cotton fields on plantations in the South. They had to bend their backs in the fields picking cotton. Cornfields on the other hand are in the Midwest, and have always been associated with poor White farmers. You don't pick corn with your hands. You get on a tractor. Tractors have never been associated with black people.
Ain't no damn black people out there.
When I think of cornfields, I think of:
or
or even Cornfed from Real Chance of Love
If black people are really looking at cornfields and IMMEDIATELY thinking about slavery, then ch we have GOT to do better.
