Constructive ATRL criticism
I figure there are times on atrl where we all get a bit carried away with things that we contribute or what we see. This is a thread to explore that criticism and or display opinions about any topic that occurs on here
Ex. Iconic is used so much because time moves so slowly, that the time it takes to be considered iconic would take more then what we as Stans could handle. But omg is it overused here
Ex.2 why are some haters on the site. At least shade is decently funny, but when you have statements to the ones that aided the closer of Chris browns twitter is disgusting. Keep it clean but shady gurls
Ex.3 we get it, we are still trying to make Born This Way happen, but guess what? The Born this way ended with 2011 and we began the born the die era, so gaga Stan's have a seat til 2013

alot of people here are professionals (professional dancers, singers, language experts, vocal coaches, promo managers, label executives and more)
people like that wont take constructive criticism, i'll be shocked if they even know what that its

Opinions.
I notice that people on here really don't understand that taste in music is entirely subjective. For example, if someone said "I love Unapologetic - it's the best record all year. Every song is great and listenable. I don't skip anything" - then someone replied "Get your ears checked. The album is trash and there are like three good songs. It's one of the worst albums of Rihanna's career. " - I find it really rude and inconsiderate. Those things can come across a little harsh, because everyone enjoys music in different ways. What appeals to one person, may not appeal to another and vice versa. The whole "Album X" is better than "Album Y" thing irks me also. There is no real better album. It's how the music connects with people on an individual basis. A single opinion does not equal fact however.

I've learnt a lot of people on here don't get irony, sarcasm or satire.
Many things can be interpreted far too literally.

I find that this thread getting reported in the first place another situation to think about.
I find that there are legitimate shady threads on atrl people make to get a hit thread of shade which takes a longer time to get closed then a thread like this with some in depth thought
It's threads like this I know people on atrl are sane

I've somehow managed to be tolerant with morons whose only job is to be trolls on the forum.
I'm happy people are not responding with gifs as much as they did two years ago.
People sometimes use ATRL slang so much on their responses that they seem to be the same person because they use the same phrases.

My biggest pet peeve with ATRL is that certain members think they run the place, and can get away with saying whatever they want to other members.

I have a theory. People replying that way has to do with defending their own opinions. There are sometimes people who do the opposite; first they praise and album and then start under-appreciating others, sometimes offensively doing it. Because of that, people who feel affected by such under-appreciation try to defend their musical preferences by saying such kind of phrases - the ones I highlighted from your post, resulting in a vicious circle.

Well, we're all on a forum discussing and arguing with other people about things that we literally have no control over (chart positions, tour sales, CD sales, Single success), but we still like to pretend we do. I can't recall how many times we're all wrong about what's going to be a hit single.
Of course you're going to run into a few delusional people who really get into the whole "stanning" thing. A lot of what's posted on her shouldn't be taken seriously.
In the end its your musical preference and if someone doesn't like it then, you shouldn't give it that much though.

To both of these posts - I can't be sure, but it definitely seems like he was being sarcastic given that people here actually act like they do fulfil those roles.
