And without being a poser about it, like some other pop starlets.
...Vin
yes, instead of being over the top and in your face while pushing an agenda she is understated with her message. That way she doesn't come off as a pandering, arrogant, self indulgent egomaniac trying to prove herself to be some kind of martyr. She is just who she is, and her image and material speak for themselves. Well done, Ke$ha
Of course Ke$ha is a feminist icon, that's part of her appeal to me
I also ADORE the line that she has about how she knew her career would be short lived if she couldn't deliver. I've never actually heard an artist admit insecurity about losing relevance or popularity. It's very interesting

I wasn't reaching at all tho.
And I did read it
I just dont see in what way she's different from Madonna, Rihanna, Gaga, Katy, Beyonce, Nicki, Xtina and other female pop stars.
Feminists are people that women all over the world can look up to.
Why would you look up to someone singing about dirty pictures in a filthy toilet?
I just do not get it.
Yes you were reaching and you not being able to see the difference shows that you didn't read the article or may close enough attention. Ke$ha is someone who women across the world can look up as pointed out in that article. Because she did that in one video she can't be a feminist.... You make no sense.
She has always subverted what is expected, in being a woman. Even with incorporating some c*ck-rock songs on her new record. Typically, that genre is an expression of masculinity, in a way where it is degrading towards women, yet she has flipped the standards. I well agree that she is a feminist. People need to stop denying that.
The fact that the only opposing justification of her being a feminist is because she sang on a toilet just shows how much of a feminist she really is, and that people can't accept it because of her image.
It's so hard being a woman, let alone a lesbian, in today's world. I'm so glad there are people like Ke$ha and Lady GaGa to help me find the confidence in myself to become that strong independent black woman I deserve to be.
