Cheryl Cole's ITV2 show attracts 800,000 viewers, but Girls Aloud are struggling to reach the number one spot

Cheryl Cole’s one off TV show (which was actually very good – had us dancing and crying… not at the same time) attracted a huge audience of over 800,000 people.

Around 811,000 tuned into see Cheryl flirting with new boyfriend Tre during the behind the scenes ITV2 special, with another 177,000 watching it on ITV2+1 (we bet at least 10,000 of those were little soldiers just watching it again).

Considering Cheryl admitted that she ‘cringed’ at the programme – called Access All Areas – and actually ‘regretted’ filming it at times, it’s been a huge success for the singer.

Not quite as successful, however, is Girls Aloud’s new single. Despite the huge amount of interest in their reunion – with the girls performing for the first time on last week’s Children In Need – comeback song Something New hasn’t made it to the top spot in the midweek charts.

According to the Official Chart Update, Olly Murs’s track Troublemaker is set to become his fourth number one track on Sunday, selling 28,000 copies more than of our fave girlband so far.

Girls Aloud could take the number two spot, but are fighting off One Direction’s Little Things – which went in at the top of the charts last week. Alicia Keys – who shouts FIRE every seven seconds in her single – is set to reach number four, while Labrinth and Emilie Sande are currently at number five.

Over in the album chart, One Direction look set to be beaten by Rihanna (not the first time), as her record Unapologetic sells out all over the place. You see, there's some sort of magical ingredient in her CDs, which means they can actually put themselves through the till when no one’s looking.
