According to Billboard the prediction was lowered to 220-250k. But since predictions for new albums released on BF week are usually overestimated, I wouldn't be surprised if 'Unapologetic' sells only 200-210k.

Rod Stewart could snatch that nr1 actually. He will be the buble or subo of this years holiday season.

How is it undeserving tho, a lot of artists get number one albums all the time and still fail to sell 500k after a year from release.

I actually see at least 4 albums with a chance of hitting #1. Besides the obvious I really do expect to see Phillip Phillips over-perform.

Hard to tell as they said, it's black friday, albums don't suffer major drop that week even when we know they're massively frontloaded so it's not certain she'll be #1, I'll say it's split among Rihanna, Taylor & 1D

Exactly, you can't determine anything really, we should get a better estimate sometime tomorrow and we'll know what to expect.

1D wont see an increase next week but they could almost certainly see a smaller decrease than they would've if it wasn't Black Friday.

Taylor will certainly get an increase next week but it would have to be about 50% or more to hit the number one spot.

And the plot thickens, this will sure be the biggest drag fest if the album dosen't hit the #1 spot.

I do not think that Billboard article is a sign of danger for Rihanna. They always seem to be a bit more conservative with their predictions than HDD.

Billboard's prediction is definitely more realistic than HDD's this time. But it is a fact that both of them want to create the hype to keep people checking their sites. Even though they actually know that there is no way that Taylor won't be in 250-300k range.

But that'd mean she'd have an increase of over 50%, is that possible?

Why not? 'Speak Now' sold 255k copies on Black Friday week. 'Red' is more poppy and definitely appeals to larger audiences, so it could even pass SN holiday sales just like it did with it's debut numbers. Never doubt Queen Taylor's power.

Im almost 85% it will happen though, i dont think taylor will increase enough and OneD's sales are super Front loaded so their sales drop will be even greater than some are predicting.

Well let's wait and see if she hits that #1 spot. If she does, I was right about Def Jam's strategy. Release a slow song as first single and perform a cute ballad on SNL to make it seem like your album is very mature. Very smart if their strategy works.
