I fortunately have never, nor have I attended a funeral.

I'm sorry for your loss, I would be heartbroken if my aunt passed away.

My grandmother, who died from breast cancer 5 years ago, is the only close relative I've lost.

Aside from her, I've lost a lot of relatives whom I was not close to at all. My great uncle in 2003. My uncle in 2004. My other great uncle in 2010. My other great uncle in 2012. My mom described it as people "dropping like flies". She was REALLY close to all the above so she has dealt with a lot this last decade or so.
