Rumors are spreading online about the plot for Lionsgate's anticipated Saw IV, but director Darren Lynn Bousman set the record straight when talking with ShockTillYouDrop.com on Tuesday night.
"Nobody knows what this is about," Bousman said. "Every plot synopsis you've read online is false and untrue. The thing with Macfadyen looking for his daughter? Believe it if you want. But no one knows what this story is."
When questioned whether this film will be more violent than the previous three, the helmer added, "I'm going to be very curious about what the MPAA says about the first 20 minutes of this film. There's something there that is incredibly violent."
Tobin Bell also talked to us about the return of Jigsaw. "You find out why I'm back in the very first scene. Why I'm back and why I'm around." And why should audiences come back for another movie? Because of "a tremendous ending," added Bell.
That said, when we catch up to him in Hollywood, Bousman and this journalist dance around the specific plot beats everyone wants to know. One thing is clear, "Will it offend a lot of people? One-hundred percent," Bousman boasts. "Is it the goriest film ever made? We do some f**ked up ****. I would love to be a fly on the wall when the MPAA sees this. The opening scene is completely different than anything we've ever done in a 'Saw' film before. I'm blown away by what the prosthetic guys did in this. Sitting on the set, usually I can detach myself from what I see, but I was having a gag-reflex occurring. It was pretty horrific."
Bousman, who began the editing process literally a day after wrapping principal photography, is now on a six-week post-production track racing for an October 26th release.
This is in my top 10, maybe top 5 list of films to see before 2008, which includes Hairspray, Sweeney Todd, Daddy Day Camp, I Now Pronounce You Chuck & Larry, and Simpsons Movie among others
omfg if this true. It's the best horror movie ever made. I wonder how are they going to bring Jigsaw back if he was abo****ely dead in the last one? I hope they make a logical story for it.
i'm kinda getting sick of these Saw movies too many of them.
I stopped at Saw 1, the actors were extremely unconvincing; how do they expect me to be entertained and full of suspense when their actors make it seem so obvious?
