K-pop has only gotten bigger since then, besides, 2NE1 have had the chance to garner a good audience and would be trying to break with an electro pop song, something forward.
Different factors all around.
The only thing that makes them similar is the fact that they're both K-pop groups.
Hopefully the new lyrics are great.
