I tried.
Couldn't get any real clarification on the order of operations.

But in middle school, my textbook stated that you would do the division/multiplication that used parentheses first.

6÷2(1+2)
= 6÷2(3) *do parentheses first
= 3(3) *work division and multiplication from left to right
= 9 *Multiply

Parentheses Exponent Multiplication Division Addition Subtraction
6÷2(1+2)
Parentheses first, so
6/2 (3)
then multiply 2x3
6/6=1

You always need to solve the brackets first, so (1+2) equals 3. Now 6 divided by 2 is of course three so you're left with 3 x 3 which is 9(?)

It's nine. If this was on a test or exam and you wrote one it'd be marked wrong.
