Do y'all think we underestimate the GP and how much they know about our favs? It seems most of us assume that the GP doesn't know about our favs' tours, new singles/albums, or other projects until way later on. Well today at work I was pleasantly surprised, I was sitting with my friend when suddenly this other lady who's maybe in her 40's and I know for a FACT she doesn't use twitter or tumblr, but somehow she had already gotten Unapologetic. Then everyone in the room was talking about it, mostly about Rih's Nobody's Business since they're all Chris Brown fans. So I was wondering if we need to let go of this ~GP~ crap since most people are just as aware as the stans are.

But no, some gurl...I was talking to her about Rihanna's new album, and she was like "Have you heard her new song Diamonds?"
In my mind I was like "Bitch...Diamonds is on the damn album, and that song has been out for a while now." But I told her "That's what I auditioned for the Drama Club's musical with" (which is true)
No most of the GP is out of the loop win Pop Culture they only know of the stuff that gets attention from like radio talk shows and real news most people I know don't give a crap about the people talked about here. Only if they die or in some big scandal.
I think the GP has varying levels of musical knowledge. A lot of them probably don't even listen to mainstream music, so won't care for people like Rihanna, so won't know much about what is going on. There also will be people who may listen to mainstream music on the radio, but doesn't know much out our faves (This is what we associate with the GP) and there will be a lot of other people, like the people at your work, who are interested in music and our faves but don't stan anywhere near as hard as ATRL's do, which is great because you can have really good conversations with them.
