One of the things that really bugs me about people, including people on this site, is that they label things like Aspergers Syndrome as "disabled" or even a disease, and I immediately think wtf?

Because, since I was born with Aspergers, I definitely am nowhere near being "disabled" and it definitely not a disease.
Why do people assume that a person with Aspergers, which happens the most highly functioning syndrome on the autism spectrum, as these rather insulting and degrading words as "disabled" or ill, but especially insulting, a "disease".
I mean, 1 in 88 babies have that now, any form of Autism for that matter, and I really think that people just don't understand that having Aspergers doesn't mean you're disabled. I mean, HELLO, Bill Gates had it. And it's been suspected that Albert Einstein and Benjamin Franklin and other people also had Aspergers/Autism.
Seriously, why do people just assume that Asperger kids are disabled and diseased?
