you know music goes outside of the top 40 charts right?
How many times are we gonna see Lady gaga, britney, beyonce, and rihanna domination? Most of the pop stars peaked in 2009- 2010, so we need to either cultivate a new batch of pop stars or switch up the styles like what happened in 2003 when urban and hip hop took over teen pop on the top 40 charts.
No. #1 hits don't represent the year that was. I loved The Truth About Love, Some Nights, Living Things, Roman Reloaded (I actually did). Plus STIUTK is one of the best songs of the decade.
It's been pretty terrible especially the top 40 but I have enjoyed the last 2 and a half months a LOT. Jake Bugg, Push and Shove, Paradise, Red, Halcyon and Don't Panic are amazing
Well, there were some bright spots, LDR, Frank Ocean, Miguel, Kendrick Lamar, Alex Clare, Emile Sande, Azealia Banks. Of course, it goes without saying that I liked most of my faves singles with the exception of TTT and YDO, but then again, she's my fave.
