Madonna Helps Out at Hurricane Sandy-Ravaged Rockaways

Madonna took some time out from upsetting the entire continent of Europe to lend a helping hand in Queens, specifically the Rockaways beach community which was hit hard during Hurricane Sandy. Sporting a really awesome gorilla snow hat and a solemn look on her face, Madonna got hands on over the weekend with Museum of Modern Art curator Klaus Biesenbach. Biesenbach has a home in the Rockaways and has been inviting celebs to join in on the relief effort since the hurricane hit.
After Hurricane Sandy left much of the outlying areas of New York in need, Madonna, along with other New York artists, signed a letter to Mayor Bloomberg highlighting the importance of the Rockaways and its contribution to New York City as a whole.
