The only reason TTT2 sold underwhelming against DOA in Japan is because TTT2 has been out for over a year, so what was the point in buying it for a console when they can just go to the arcade and play? It's mostly about the arcade scene over there.
Plus it's been years since DOA has been on console and especially on the PS3.
fact is SF Alpha 3 and SF 3 were the best gameplay wise cause you had to do different strategies.
SF4 is more of a throwback to 2 in terms of gameplay.
Tekken has changed up its gameplay mechanics throughout the series history.
