Better Than Adele? Alexandra Burke Covers James Bond Theme
Quote:
Hot on the heels of Adele's new James Bond theme 'Skyfall,' Alexandra Burke has become the latest singer to record a track for the legendary franchise, covering 'Live and Let Die.'
The 'Elephant' singer was asked to record a version of Paul McCartney & Wings' original version, by Simon Cowell for an X Factor USA advert. Speaking about her cover version, Alexandra told the Daily Star: "It's always been one of the best Bond themes ever, and what a great time to re-record this as we celebrate 50 years of Bond."
The 24-year-old's new track was produced by Richard 'Biff' Stannard, who has worked with Little Mix and the Spice Girls, and will be used to accompany an intro used for judges Britney Spears, Demi Lovato, L.A. Reid and Simon himself. McCartney's original version was recorded in 1973 but was also used by legendary rock band Guns N' Roses in 1991.
Alex has been a little quiet of late on the music front, no doubt spending time loved-up with her new footballer beau Dominic Jean-Zephitin, whom she was spotted enjoying a romantic trip in Italy with last month.
The 'Start Without You' singer looked smitten with the French-born Haitian goalkeeper as they walked the streets of Milan in October. The pair even sported matching ensembles, both wearing similar red leather jackets as well as matching trainers.
The romance comes just months after she dumped Tottenham Hotspurs striker Jermain Defoe after several women came forward to allege he had slept with them while he was still with Alex.
Guys, she already SUNG the song you're looking for.
1.40 to 1.60 you can hear her faintly (cause the crowd are screaming) turn it UP! http://www.novamov.com/video/p0bmxpouayjv9
Just because Alexandra can sing technically better doesn't mean she can outsing Adele in just about everything. Alexandra is nothing more than a black Leona, a singer who has all of the technical abilities but fail to bring much emotion and clarity to any of her vocal performances. They're bland. "Someone Like You" and "Hometown Glory" are better performances than a lot of Alex's technical proficient performances.
Just because Alexandria can sing technically better doesn't mean she can outsing Adele in just about everything. Alexandria is nothing more than a black Leona, a singer without the technical abilities but fail to bring much emotion and clarity to any of her vocal performances. They're bland. "Someone Like You" and "Hometown Glory" are better performances than a lot of Alex's technical proficient performances.
It's Alexandra, not Alexandria.
Adele could never. It's better than anything Adele recorded too.

But Alex has emotion. See Listen for example. She can outsing Adele in everything imo. She has lots of clarity and emotion, just because she has a big voice doesn't mean she's dead vocally (I don't get how people think a big voice = nothing). Have you listened to On My Own up there, cause that's a hard song to sing from an emotional perspective, and she nailed it.
Skyfall was epic, but Alex sounded awesome from the Live and Let die snippet on XF USA. Alex and Leona are polar opposites in terms of emotion though, that was the whole thing about her winning XF UK.
I love all 3, and have all their albums, but Alex does it for me. She has that soul you can't teach.

Never said or implied this. And it's actually the opposite. People think big voice = everything, and that's really not the case for every big voice. Celine and Leona are just two off the top of my head, but I do find Alex to be better than them.
Oh I thought you meant that. Apologies. Stan for who you stan
But I don't get that. I often felt Whit and Mariah meant a heck of a lot of their songs. Also the awesomeness in your avi makes me bop on a morning. That is all.

That belt.
You made a whole thread about THAT? I watched that episode and I didn't even notice! You can barely hear her.
